#859: Portrait by an artist (or how to adapt when you’re lacking skills)

What do you do when you find that you don’t have a particular skill, or are unable to do something that you’d really like to do? Do you mope and feel sorry for yourself? Or you do find a way to adapt?

The Girl has recently revealed to us that now that her drawings are getting more complex and less child-like, she finds that she cannot draw certain elements of the human body. No longer satisfied with stick-figures with balloon eyes, she’d like to draw proper fingers and eyes, but how? So she makes a stab at one, and figures a way around the other. Although I intend to give both kids a drawing lesson on eyes, luckily for my little artist, shaggy-haired teenagers will always exist.
